After Applying
My tattoo didn’t develop how I expected—any advice?
A few things might be at play:
- Everyone’s skin chemistry is unique.
- Make sure you fully dampened the backing so the entire design transferred.
- Unintentional rubbing or scratching within the first 8 hours can disrupt the tattoo.
- Sweating or showering too soon can hamper the outcome. Eight hours is our recommended wait time.
- If you didn’t thoroughly clean and dry your skin beforehand, oil or residue might reduce adhesion.
- Overnight (2 nights), loosely cover your tattoo to prevent accidental smudging or imprinting onto other areas.
If you’ve tried all these pointers and still aren’t satisfied, email us at help@tattup.shop with:

Can I hit the sauna with my Tattup?
Sure thing—just wait at least 8 hours post-application. After your sweat, pat the area gently and pop on some moisturizer.💦
Can I tan or sunbathe with a Tattup?
Absolutely. Just like with a sauna, be gentle—don’t vigorously rub the tattoo dry, and add a little lotion afterward to keep it looking fresh.
How do I remove a Tattup tattoo?
A mild exfoliation with warm saltwater usually speeds up fading. You can use a gentle body scrub or a washcloth—just don’t overdo it if your skin gets sensitive.
Note: If you literally just applied the tattoo, you can rinse it off immediately before it sets. But once the ink has sunk in, it’ll need a bit more work (exfoliating, saltwater, etc.) to fade.
I washed my Tattup, and it vanished!
If you rinse the design off in the first eight hours, it might not have had time to lock in. The ink needs a full 24–48 hours to deepen. It may start super faint (light blue) before going darker.
What if I get a weird reaction?
Our formula contains a few ingredients your skin might not have seen before, so there’s a small risk of allergy.
If you notice irritation, stop using it right away. A soothing cream can help reduce mild redness, and try not to scratch. Persistent itching or redness means it’s time to check with a doctor. If any ink splashes into your eyes, rinse immediately.
